Our History:

Hockey Ballarat is an incorporated body that has been formally
in existence since 1993, which occurred with the amalgamation of the
Ballarat Women's Hockey Association and the Ballarat Men's Hockey
Association.

The synthetic turf, "Bendigo Bank Ballarat Hockey Centre", is located at Prince of Wales Park, was completed in 1993.  This is now the home of Hockey Ballarat.

Area of membership:

Ballarat and Districts, north to Maryborough, west to Arrarat, south to Geelong, east to western Suburbs of Melbourne and all centres in between.

Legal Status:

Incorporated in Victoria, under the Associations Incorporation Act. The association has an ABN number.

Operations:

Hockey Ballarat is governed by a Board of Management comprising five Directors and a President.  It has one full time employee being the Executive Officer.

Affiliation:

Affiliated to the Hockey Victoria.

Membership:

Has over 300 registered members participating in junior and senior competitions.

Facilities:

The "Bendigo Bank Ballarat Hockey Centre" located in Prince of Wales Park has a synthetic (sand) surface with wind shelters and lights, facility block including Bike Rack, and a canteen.

Performances:

Hockey Ballarat is a competitive country association in Victoria and competes each year in state Championships. 

Hockey Ballarat competes in the Hockey Victoria's State League competition. The Men's team currently competes in State League 4 competition.

Special Events:

Ballarat Hosted the Australian University Games in 2000.

The Future:

Hockey Ballarat has plans to continue to upgrade it's facilities at Prince of Wales Park.

Hockey Ballarat is committed to the promotion and development of the sport in primary and secondary schools throughout the region.
